Firefighter Academy News

Cohort 1/Seniors

We have four seniors that have stayed in the fight to get their IBC for Fire and EMT. Only one CHS student has passed 3 of the 4 exams so far. He is ready to become a cadet for the City of Midland! We are so very proud of you Alex Tagle. We wish all of these students luck and applaud them for ALL of their hard work in obtaining the qualifications needed to be hired on with the City of Midland as Future firefighters!

Cohort 2/Juniors

Juniors are off to a great start and are working hard to pass their Firefighter 1 certification. We were able to recruit 14 students for the 23-24 Cohort. Thanks to new Ipads and Apps our Juniors are ready to succeed!

Future Students

Be on the lookout for our recruiting efforts at parades/fairs/ etc. We will be on your campus soon to begin the recruiting efforts for the 24-25 school year. 8th graders get ready as you learn about ALL the exciting programs MISD has to offer! Texas Association of Future Educators

Do you like to travel? As part of the Education and Training pathway, you can participate in our CTSO (career and student organization). This program allows you to show off your skills in public speaking or being an effective educator while you compete for Area, State, or National competitions. We have had students go to Dallas, Kalahari Resort in Round Rock, Washington, D.C., and Florida to name a few all while competing and making new friends!
